Staff Specialist ( Psychiatrist)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist (Child & Adolescent) to join a highly regarded mental health service in one of Australia's most desirable coastal regions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and management for children and adolescents across community and specialist mental health services.

Act as a clinical consultant to GPs, allied health professionals, and external providers.

Supervise and mentor Psychiatry Registrars and junior medical staff.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure care is delivered in line with best practice standards and relevant mental health frameworks.

The Ideal Candidate

Specialist registration (or eligibility) in Psychiatry.

Significant experience in Child & Adolescent Mental Health services.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to care.

Experience supervising and supporting junior doctors.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and high clinical standards.

Interest in service development, research, or subspecialty areas is advantageous.
