Senior Medical Consultant - Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Senior Medical Consultant specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist to join a dynamic team providing essential mental health services. As a consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert care to children and adolescents while contributing to teaching and training programs.

Key Responsibilties

• Clinical Services
  Provide high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive mental health assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care within the Top End Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.

• Teaching & Training
  Actively participate in teaching psychiatry to medical students as part of the Northern Territory Clinical School. Support the Postgraduate Psychiatry Training Program under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), mentoring the next generation of psychiatric professionals.

• Collaboration & Support
  Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals to foster a collaborative environment focused on improving patient outcomes. Contribute to ongoing service improvement initiatives, particularly within the child and adolescent psychiatric sector.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have:

• Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
