Psychiatrist - Older Persons Mental Health

THE POSITION

As a staff specialist/ consultant psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development, clinical governance and clinical activity within the Adult Mental Health Service, providing expert mental health care to adults over the age of 65.Your focus will be on meeting acute mental health needs of customers. This is a permanent - part time opportunity, offering a chance to make a lasting impact in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clinical management of individuals with mental illness in a specialised mental health service setting.
• Provide clinical leadership, advice, and direction within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to the mental health recovery model of care, evidence-based practice, and continuous quality improvement.
• Expert knowledge of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

* Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.

* Current registration to practice as a specialist in psychiatry with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Medical Board of Australia.
