Medical Co-Director / Consultant Psychiatrist

THE POSITION

This position offers a fixed-term appointment for up to 5 years with the possibility of extension(s). The Medical Co-Director (State Forensics) is responsible for leading, governing, strategic planning, and operational management of the clinical stream within the State Forensic Mental Health Services (SFMHS). In partnership with the MHPHDS Executive team, you will ensure the provision of safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist within the State Forensic Mental Health Service, you will handle psychiatric and medical assessments and treatments, provide clinical leadership, and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team delivering evidence-based best practices.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates will be required to meet the following criteria:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZAP)
• Registered medical practitioner with specialist AHPRA registration
• Australian Working Rights
