Consultant Psychiatrist

THE POSITION

This position is offering opportunities across adult community and inpatient mental health services, including Enhanced GP Liaison and Hospital in the Home (HITH) services.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:

• Work within friendly multidisciplinary teams.
• Teach registrars and engage in professional development.
• Enjoy no emergency shifts and minimal on-call requirements.

• Salary: A base salary of $357,930 - $456,008 p.a. pro rata (inclusive of superannuation and allowances).

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The Mental Health Hospital is undergoing a significant expansion, including:

• 40 new beds by mid-2025, including a dedicated dementia unit and a neurostimulation unit offering ECT and rTMS.
• Plans for a long-term rehabilitation unit.
• As part of these changes, the Hospital will become the largest mental health service in Western Australia, offering numerous professional development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have:

• Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
• Passion for rural psychiatry and the ability to mentor trainees in a rural setting.
