THE POSITION

The role is seeking Addiction Medicine Consultants, psychiatrists with qualifications in addiction medicine, addiction psychiatrists with qualifications in addiction medicine, or advanced trainees in addiction medicine. These positions will contribute to developing the new Addiction Prevention and Treatment Service, the first integrated addiction and mental health service in a public hospital in Western Australia. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to provide specialist medical services to patients.
  • Promote patient safety and quality of care.
  • Provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training and other health workers.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department and other Consultants to achieve national, state, and South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) performance standards and targets.

  • Competitive Salary: MP Year 1-9 $336,466 - $427,886 p.a. pro rata or $644.98 - $820.23 per session.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZAP)
  • Registered medical practitioner with specialist AHPRA registration
